CAPPING INTRODUCTION delivered by: Mery Louise Alvaran
Capping Ceremory, July 1999

How the wheels of time have turned; how the days of preparation have flown. Dear friends, it has been a couple years ago when each of us had a vision, and exactly 25 months ago when each determined soul made this first rightful step into the splendrous, selfless world of the Nursing vocation. It only seemed like yesterday when we talked about how each beat of a second felt endless, yet with just a single brush of wind, we have arrived to our once deemed unreachable level. This Capping and Candlelight Ceremony is both a destination and a gateway - one that leads to a winding and ceaseless path of dedication to mankind; one that sparks the ultimate beginning of the course we have chosen to take in life.
Today, we stand as a small group filled with youthful aspirations, ready yet somewhat still in awe that we have come to witness this moment. It will be on this special occasion that the visions we have longed for since childhood and the efforts we have given will be crowned by the realization of a dream the dream to leave each of our fibers interwoven with the noble work of the Paulinian nurses.
This joyous celebration is blessed with the presence of our dear parents, our friends, and most specially our beloved alumni who have all come from afar, ever-bearing the Paulinian spirit. This lasting picture in the realm of time shows a wondrous blend of different generations coming together, completing one glorious family. We are all glad that you could share this special moment with us.
Our celebrant for today is Father Medyphil Billones, Secretary to the Archbishop, Archdiocese of Jaro. Let us all stand for the opening hymn.
